This is one of the more interesting stories following energy has dropped onto me. An almost unknown (on the Internet) security corporation wins an $800 million contract from Abu Dhabi to build a smart fence and defend oil assets. Who is this company? Another article from June calls them, “one of the world’s fastest-growing international security companies,” but provides no numbers. Apparently the US is their largest customer followed by Saudi Aramco, both of which then are presumably larger than the UAE contract. We’re talking a multibillion dollar security company, then, and basically no internet presence, except this subsidiary, Universal Dynamics (UDI), which we read is “a global high-tech consulting firm in the petrochemical industry.”
